Community Guidelines

Sihimoge works because people keep it honest and local. These rules apply to every ad, comment, message and profile.

Post good ads

• Be accurate about the item, its condition and the price. Photos should be of the actual item.
• Pick the right category and a real location in the Shivamogga area.
• One ad per item. Do not spam or repost repeatedly.
• No offensive, hateful, obscene, defamatory or privacy-invading content.

Prohibited - do not post these

The sale or advertising of these is restricted or banned under Indian law:

• Weapons, ammunition, explosives (Arms Act).
• Drugs and narcotics (NDPS Act).
• Tobacco, gutka, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, hookah and their advertising (COTPA; PECA 2019).
• Alcohol (state excise law).
• Sexual services and indecent content.
• Prenatal sex-determination or sex-selection services (PCPNDT Act).
• "Miracle cures", magic remedies, and prescription medicines (Drugs and Magic Remedies Act; Drugs and Cosmetics Act).
• Wildlife articles: ivory, animal skins, star tortoise, shahtoosh, pangolin scales, and similar (Wildlife Protection Act).
• Human organs, tissue or blood for sale (Transplantation of Human Organs Act).
• Lottery tickets, matka, and real-money gambling or betting (state gaming laws; Karnataka restrictions).
• Counterfeit currency or goods, forged documents, and the sale of Aadhaar, PAN or Voter ID cards.
• Stolen goods, and anything you do not have the legal right to sell.

Be decent to people

• No harassment, threats, scams, or impersonation.
• Do not share someone else's private information without consent.
• Comments are public and tied to your account. The poster can remove comments on their own ad.

Enforcement

We use post-moderation: your ad goes live at once, and our team reviews reports. Content that breaks these rules is removed. Accounts that repeat or cause serious harm are suspended or banned. Use Report to flag anything, and track your report from your account.
